Door-stop chip butty
by SquiggleA variant on the classic chip sandwich, only easier to make without a kitchen.
Simplest student food that'll keep you going for a weekend. Excellent for a quick, cheap and filling meal before a night of heavy drinking.
Warning: Not in the slightest bit healthy.
ingredients
- Small or medium unsliced loaf of bread
- Two portions of chips
- Condiments (vinegar, ketchup)
Optional
- Cheese or cheese sauce
method
- Buy the unsliced loaf at a bakers or decent supermarket
- Walk to the nearest fish and chip shop and buy two portions of chips
- Tear the loaf in twine and scoop out a decent amount of the inside with your hands, being careful not to penetrate the crust.
- Fill the bready void with chips and condiments.
- Eat.
Note: If you're doing this in a kitchen I recommend adding a home-made thick cheese sauce instead of the condiments. This will, however, render the meal deliciously messy.
